Dopo un anno di stop causa coronavirus è tornato come tutti gli anni, anzi più stravagante che mai, il Met Gala, tradizionale Gala al Metropolitan Museum di New York, l’evento più cool della moda americana.
Tema di quest’anno: “In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion” un omaggio agli Stati Uniti, alla sua multiculturalità e al lessico della sua immagine, allestito all’Anna Wintour Costume Center.
Come sempre non potevano mancare gli outfit più creativi e scenografici. Ad aprire le danze l’icona JLo vestita da cow girl couture in Ralph Lauren, mentre Megan Fox ha stupito tutti in versione burlesque rosso scintillante. Ognuna ha colto un aspetto della cultura americana, dal fascino degli anni Cinquanta al potere del denim, dal country allo sportswear. Ma su tutti vince il total black estremo, silhoutte scultoree, zero fronzoli. Un messaggio ben preciso dietro tale scelta, uno stimolo a ricominciare da zero, dall’essenziale.
Di notevole impatto visivo la coppia Rihanna in un abito dark di Balenciaga e Asap Rocky avvolto in un look arcobaleno effetto coperta.
Mentre i Bieber, Sharon Stone, Kaia Gerber e Kim Kardashian hanno optato letteralmente per il nero totale Dramma style.
Arriva al gala accompagnata dallo stilista Demna Gvasalia, che si è presentato con un look composto da una felpa con cappuccio oscurante, Kim Kardashian irriconoscibile totalmente coperta da capo a piedi, compreso il volto.
Virgil Abloh, amministratore delegato di Off-White, si è presentato con cappello con delle simpatiche orecchie stile di Playboy e maxi occhiali bianchi.
Dopo il gala, come tradizione vuole, Balenciaga, Justin Bieber e Drew House hanno ospitato il party più cool del dopo Met Gala al Cathedrale, completamente trasformato da ristorante a nightclub, con luci e drappeggi.
Kim, al post Met si è presentata con un altro modello di Balenciaga, questa volta con il viso scoperto protetto da occhiali da supereroe.
Sua sorella Kendall Jenner indossava invece un mini-abito Givenchy rosso scarlatto.
Tra gli altri ospiti vestiti Balenciaga anche Michaela Coel, Isabelle Huppert, Elliot Page.
Presenti anche Kaia Gerber con il fidanzato Jacob Elordi; Machine Gun Kelly e Megan Fox, Rosé e Olivia Rodrigo sedute fianco a fianco.
